Updated September 2026
World of Warcraft players have talked about Classic Plus — usually written Classic+ — for years.
The idea is simple: instead of continuing through World of Warcraft’s original expansions, Blizzard could take Classic in a new direction, adding new content while retaining the world, systems and style that made Vanilla WoW so popular.
Until now, Classic+ has mostly been a community idea.
But ahead of BlizzCon 2026, there are more reasons than ever to pay attention to what Blizzard might be planning for the future of Classic.
And for OnlyFangs fans, there’s another interesting possibility:
Could Classic+ provide the perfect setting for OnlyFangs 3?
Here’s everything we know so far.
What Is WoW Classic Plus?
WoW Classic Plus isn’t currently an officially announced Blizzard game.
Instead, Classic+ is the community’s name for a hypothetical version of World of Warcraft Classic that continues developing Vanilla WoW rather than simply progressing through existing expansions.
Think of it as an alternative timeline for Classic.
Instead of Vanilla leading into The Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King and later expansions, Blizzard could keep the original world and gameplay style while introducing completely new content.
That could potentially include:
- New raids and dungeons
- New or unfinished Vanilla zones
- Additional quests
- Class and profession changes
- New items and gear
- New world events
- Quality-of-life improvements
- Previously unused Vanilla content
Exactly what Classic+ would contain is unknown because Blizzard has not officially announced it.
But Blizzard has already experimented with the basic idea.
Was Season of Discovery a Test for Classic Plus?
Season of Discovery showed what can happen when Blizzard stops treating Classic as a museum piece.
It introduced new abilities, class roles, raids and other changes while keeping players inside the original World of Warcraft.
Classic+ wouldn’t necessarily look like Season of Discovery, but SoD proved Blizzard is willing to create genuinely new experiences using Classic WoW as its foundation.
And in 2026, the speculation became considerably more interesting.
Why Does Everyone Think Classic Plus Is Coming?
In May 2026, Blizzard invited a group of prominent World of Warcraft creators to its headquarters in Irvine, California.
The group included major Classic personalities such as Sodapoppin, Esfand and Xaryu.
The creators couldn’t publicly explain everything they had seen or discussed.
Naturally, the WoW community immediately began speculating about Classic+.
There is still no confirmation that the event was related to Classic Plus.
But the choice of creators attracted attention because these weren’t simply general World of Warcraft personalities. They included people with particularly strong connections to Classic WoW.
For OnlyFangs fans, Sodapoppin and Esfand obviously stand out.
Both have played major roles in the history of OnlyFangs.
Could Blizzard Announce Classic Plus at BlizzCon 2026?
BlizzCon takes place on September 12–13, 2026, and World of Warcraft has a significant presence on the schedule.
That makes BlizzCon an obvious place for Blizzard to reveal whatever it has planned for the future of Classic.
However, it’s important to separate evidence from speculation.
Blizzard has not confirmed that Classic+ will be announced at BlizzCon.
Until Blizzard actually announces it, Classic Plus remains a community name for something players hope the company is building.
But if Blizzard does have a major new Classic project to reveal, BlizzCon would make a lot of sense.
Could Classic Plus Bring Back OnlyFangs?
This is where things become particularly interesting for OnlyFangs.
Earlier plans for OnlyFangs 3 revolved around playing Hardcore in The Burning Crusade.
Those plans were eventually shelved.
One of the fundamental problems with TBC Hardcore is that OnlyFangs isn’t simply a guild full of experienced World of Warcraft players.
That’s part of its appeal.
OnlyFangs brings together veteran WoW players, variety streamers and people who barely know what they’re doing.
Add permanent death and the result is chaos.
TBC’s increasingly demanding dungeon and raid mechanics made that formula much harder to sustain.
Classic+ could potentially solve that problem.
Why Classic Plus Could Be Perfect for OnlyFangs 3
The original Vanilla world is where the Hardcore format arguably works best.
The gameplay is relatively understandable, levelling is a major part of the experience, the open world matters, and death can create memorable moments long before players reach endgame.
Now imagine that environment with content nobody has solved before.
New quests.
Unknown encounters.
New dungeons.
New items.
Potentially even new raids.
Experienced players couldn’t simply rely on fifteen years of accumulated knowledge.
That could recreate one of the things that made OnlyFangs so entertaining in the first place: nobody being entirely sure what’s going to happen next.
It would also give Sodapoppin a reason to organize another event without simply repeating the previous Classic Hardcore experience.
You can browse the site’s full OnlyFangs streamer directory to see just how varied the previous roster was, from experienced WoW veterans to creators learning the game as they played.
Sodapoppin’s Blizzard Visit Makes the Connection Interesting
There is currently no evidence that Blizzard’s Classic creator event had anything to do with OnlyFangs.
That distinction matters.
But Sodapoppin being among the creators invited to Blizzard is still notable.
OnlyFangs became one of the biggest streamer-driven events surrounding Classic Hardcore, and Sodapoppin has extensive experience organizing large groups of creators around WoW.
If Blizzard wanted feedback about a new Classic experience — particularly how it might work for streamers, inexperienced players or large community events — his inclusion would make sense.
That does not mean Blizzard showed him Classic+.
It certainly doesn’t mean OnlyFangs 3 has been confirmed.
For now, it’s simply another reason OnlyFangs fans should pay attention to whatever Blizzard announces next.
Is Classic Plus Confirmed?
No.
As of September 2026:
WoW Classic Plus: Not officially announced
Classic+ release date: None
Classic+ announcement at BlizzCon: Unconfirmed
Sodapoppin attended Blizzard’s creator event: Yes
OnlyFangs Classic+ season: Not announced
OnlyFangs 3 release date: Not announced
There is considerably more speculation around Classic+ than there used to be, but until Blizzard makes an announcement, that’s where things stand.
What Happens Next?
BlizzCon 2026 is the date to watch.
If Blizzard announces Classic+, we’ll update this page with everything confirmed about the game, including its release date, content, gameplay changes and how it differs from traditional WoW Classic.
And if that announcement creates an opportunity for OnlyFangs 3, we’ll be watching Sodapoppin closely.
After the TBC Hardcore plan fell apart, a genuinely new version of Vanilla World of Warcraft might be exactly what OnlyFangs needs.
For now, Classic+ remains speculation.
But with BlizzCon approaching, we may not have much longer to wait.
